Angela Dougher and Kara Everhart, Windsor kindergarten teachers, along with school crossing guard, Sandra LaRock, turned the K/1 Pod into a real-world learning experience, complete with a one-way road and crosswalks. Students role-played as drivers, walkers and crossing guards. Appreciation for our hard-working community members and safety skills were the goals of today's lesson. We are proud of all of our Windsor Community Helpers, teachers, and staff who brought this lesson to life and our students who were excited to learn more about these important people and the roles they play in our town. The K students will complete this unit with a culminating project; a class book of their favorite helpers.
