Dear Parents and Guardians,
The spring-like temperatures have been here all week and it's hard to believe that we are actually celebrating February Break next week. We hope that you enjoy this down time and get to do all the things that bring you happiness. We look forward to seeing the students return on February 27th.

Middle School News
Middle School Winter Carnival - Our 6th, 7th, and 8th graders showed a lot of school spirit and enthusiasm today as they participated in many fun activities planned by their peers. Many staff members commented on the great fun and good sportsmanship of our students.
Important 8th Grade News: Can you believe it is time for our 8th graders to start thinking about high school schedules? Jessica Vivian and Kate Ryan visited 8th grade classrooms this week to begin the process. Students and parents were sent a survey. Please reach out with any questions. If your student has not completed this yet, please do so. Here is the survey.

High School News
Student Introduces Bill: We have student Hudson Ranney who designed an Extended Learning Opportunity ( ELO) for English and Social Studies Credit. This student works with one of our board members, Elizabeth Burrows, who is also a member of the VT House Committee, to develop a big that would positively impact students in Vermont. The bill made it past the first stages of development.
We can virtually watch Hudson present his Bill to the House Committee next week! If you are interested in watching Hudson present his bill to the House Committee Education on Tuesday, 2/21, at 1:15 p.m. You will be able to watch the live stream here at that time.
Important news:
We are excited to move forward with our strategic plan as we work to be innovative and guide our students in their learning. In order to do this, we want to make a shift towards a student driven schedule. Meaning instead of saying, here are the classes we have to offer and want to teach please make your choice, we are asking students to be drivers in their own education. We want to hear clearly what works for your learning and your long term and short term goals. For the 2023/2024 school year we plan to make progress in this model. Prior to February break students will take a short survey to help us move forward. I want all families to have the questions so you may discuss together over the next few days. Please see the survey questions below. I look forward to sharing out data and moving forward together in this process. Please reach out with any questions. If your student has not completed this yet, please do so. Here is the survey. Thank you, Kate
Windsor is hosting the ASVAB on March 10th. Those interested in signing up please contact Jessica Vivian.
