Parent Updates

Dear Windsor School Parents and Caregivers,

We have now completed 2 weeks of both in-person and remote learning.   We thank you for your support and patience as we navigate these waters.  That being said, it has been so wonderful to see not only your children but also all of our parents and caregivers that we have missed so much.   We have seen so many positives in these first two weeks.  Children are amazingly resilient and have adapted well to our new necessary Covid environment and safety protocols.   Teachers, staff, and students are just so happy to be back.  There is a tremendous amount of teamwork amongst all staff and just an overall wonderful vibe in the building.  We thank you for entrusting us with your children.

To reiterate Dr. Baker’s message, our K-8 teachers, especially those who are in-person, are still working on integrated curriculum and updating themselves in the Canvas Platform and VTVLC curriculum. This was a major change for all teachers. Therefore, we are extending the Professional Development afternoons through next week. We are working on an afternoon schedule that is grade level appropriate with opportunities for  student enrichment, choice, support, teacher check-ins, etc. More information will follow.

Our high school remote classes take place at the times noted in the student’s schedule.  Class period length will be at the discretion of the teacher within the 45 minute maximum class period. Students are expected to check in for attendance for all classes listed on their schedule.

We are working on consistent camera expectations and clarity will be coming shortly.  At this time, we respectfully request that students sign into classes with camera on and microphone muted until otherwise directed by the classroom teacher.

During our 12:30pm K-8 dismissal,  students are to be picked up at the same location they were dropped off at in the morning to ensure safety.  Please remind older siblings who are picking up younger siblings to meet at the appropriate exit door. Students may not walk through the building to pick up siblings or friends at their classrooms.  We thank you for your cooperation.

We thank you for all you have done for our community and school, particularly this school year.  We are thankful to serve this community.
